Don't call it a slowdown. At least, not yet.
That's according to the Associated Builders and Contractors' analysis of recent data from the Bureau of Labor Statistics. The ABC says that, according to the latest Job Openings and Labor Turnover Survey (JOLTS), the construction industry had 274,000 job openings on the last day of March. That's down by 182,000 from the last month and down 17,000 from the same time last year. (JOLTS defines a job opening as any unfilled position for which an employer is actively recruiting.)
