Mithun has promoted the following senior associates to principals: David Goldberg, Richard Franko, Debra Guenther and Brodie Bain. Goldberg, lead designer and project director, worked on Islandwood -- A School in the Woods and the Zoomazium at Woodland Park Zoo, set to open this spring.

Franko, project director and lead designer, focuses on projects that integrate sustainable strategies, community identity and innovative design. Recent projects include Lloyd Crossing Sustainable Urban Design Plan and Yesler Community Center for the Seattle Parks Department. Guenther, a landscape architect and urban designer, has worked on Zoomazium and High Point's Bataan Park. She is a nationally recognized for her work in sustainable site design practices. Bain, lead in campus master planning and pre-design and project director, worked on the University of Washington's Seattle and Bothell campuses and Duke University.

TVA Architects of Portland recently made the following staff additions: David Wolff, Aaron Hall and Roza Malekzadeh as architects. Wolff rejoins TVA to collaborate on the South Figueroa Towers, a mixed-use high-rise in Los Angeles. Hall, who is LEED accredited, has worked on Park Block 5, a proposed underground parking structure topped with a public park adjacent to Fox Tower in Portland, and the apparel company Chico's headquarters in Fort Myers, Fla. Malekzadeh, a native of Iran, is working on theater complexes in Texas and Missouri.

Otak

Otak has promoted 16 staff members. Otak's new associates in Kirkland are David Ojala and Keith Damann. The new senior associates in Lake Oswego, Ore., are Kay Van Sickel, Tonya Finley, Sinan Gumusoglu and Julie Morales. Others promoted in the Lake Oswego office are Gwynne Berkeley, John Gonzales, Katie Kersten, Kerry Lankford, Heather Robinson, Darrin Stairs, Linda Van Winkle, and Corey Charon in Bend, Ore.

The Blueline Group made three new hires: Carol Doggett as CAD manager and senior drafter; Justin Johnson as engineering drafter and Jennifer Samdal as business development manager. Deanna Gebhard recently became a licensed engineer in Washington. She specializes in civil engineering for site design, underground utilities, roadways, and lot/parcel layout for residential and commercial projects.

Plum has served as the geotechnical lead on numerous major projects, including the preliminary design investigation of several stations along the Los Angeles subway system, reconstruction of Interstate 90 through Mercer Island and the new Spirit Lake Highway to Mount St. Helens

The Bremerton office of Parametrix recently hired David Dinkuhn and Lily Isenhart. Dinkuhn has worked in environmental engineering, remedial design, project management, regulatory compliance, remedial investigations and feasibility studies. He is working on Golconda Mine remedial design, Coeur d'Alene basin and Kitsap County brownfields as a project engineer. Isenhart has worked on vulnerability assessments and emergency response plans for the Army and remedial design for the Nacimiento Copper Mine in New Mexico. At Parametrix, she is working on the Golconda Mine site clean up in Coeur d'Alene, and will work on several projects as an environmental engineer, helping with remedial investigations, feasibility studies and design.

Exeltech Consulting announced new staff members in its Olympia, Seattle and Salem offices. The Seattle office added Wei Yang, buildings/facilities engineer, Ken Andreason, facilities structural engineer, and Denise Kirby-Leonard, administrative assistant. The Olympia office added Kathryn Crawford, environmental planner; Rod Finkle, director of construction management; Leroy Slemmer, project manager; and Kelly Szepanski, administrative assistant.

Joining Exeltech's Salem office are Alicia Underwood, planning/ communications specialist; Jeff Payne, construction manager; and Allison Berg, administrative assistant. Exeltech provides civil, structural and environmental services.

Thomas Hacker Architects of Portland announced several additions. Rachel Silbert, who has 10 years of design and project management experience, is working on the campus plan for Portland State University and the Undergraduate Classroom Building for Washington State University in Vancouver. Amie Jung Yoon re-joined T· H· A as a full-time design assistant. Isaac Adams joined as an architectural intern and is LEED accredited. Cezanne Miller has been hired as marketing coordinator. Miller graduated in the June from Portland State University with a bachelor of arts in community development. Sarah Hacker has been promoted to marketing director, after four years as the firm's marketing coordinator. Stephen Miller has been promoted to graphics manager, after joining T· H· A in 1999 as IT manager. Gordon Price has been promoted to CAD/IT manager. Price was hired in 2001 as CAD manager.

CH2M Hill

Edward S. Aromi has been named senior vice president for strategic business development in CH2M Hill's Richland office. Aromi will be responsible for expanding the firm's nuclear activities. Aromi has worked on cleanup efforts at Hanford since October of 1996. Under his leadership, the CH2M team completed the removal of liquids from 149 single-shell tanks and began retrieval and transfer of the remaining waste in those tanks into the double-shell tank system. Mark Spears will replace Aromi as president of CH2M Hill's Hanford Group. Spears joined CHG in May, after working with Kaiser HILL Inc. at the U.S. Department of Energy's Rocky Flats Facility. His first position at CHG was as senior vice president of Nuclear Operations Technical Services.

David Evans and Associates

David Evans and Associates hired Petur J. Sim as an environmental scientist and planner, Paul A. Randall-Grutter as a project engineer and Rhett Winter as a design engineer. Sim specializes in wetland delineations, mitigation, critical area ordinances and SEPA compliance. Randall-Grutter specializes in civil and structural engineering for residential, commercial and industrial projects. They include design of subdivisions, roads, and water, storm and sewer systems. Winter specializes in civil engineering for site design, water, storm and sewer systems underground utilities and roadways. He also has experience with construction oversight and agency coordination.
