Mithun promoted Erin Christensen Ishizaki to partner. Christensen Ishizaki is urban designer and architect who has worked at Mithun in Seattle since 2007. She works in the integration of public health and design. Mithun said she pioneered the use of health impact assessments, and has a background in EcoDistrict planning. The Mariposa Redevelopment master plan and the Healthy Living Initiative for Denver Housing Authority are among the planning projects she has led. She is on the Congress for New Urbanism board, and speaks on equitable development, design for health, and sustainable district development. She is a 2014 Urban Land Institute 40 under 40 professional.

In its Spokane office, OAC hired Greg Brown as a program manager, Elizabeth Rosenbeck as a project coordinator, and Mitchell Romero and Carl Moses as senior project managers. Brown has nearly 30 years of experience in K-12 projects. He was director of capital projects and planning for Spokane Public Schools for 12 years, managing building modernizations, expansions and new construction. Rosenbeck has provided administrative support for construction, infrastructure and environmental consulting firms for over 25 years, including working on international projects. Romero has over 23 years of experience in design and construction program management, mostly assisting school districts. Prior to joining OAC, he worked on the overseas construction of U.S. embassies. Moses has worked in the construction industry for over 28 years, managing commercial, industrial, waterfront and housing projects. At OAC, he will manage tenant improvement, health care and commercial projects.

Arup, an engineering and consulting firm, promoted Peter Alspach, Will Baumgardner, Matt Carter, Joanne Iddon, Seth Wolfe and Josh Yacknowitz to principal. Alspach is a mechanical engineer who joined Arup in 2001 and specializes in design of low energy buildings. He leads the sustainability, mechanical and plumbing teams in Seattle and is global skills leader for environmental and building physics. He has worked on over 150 projects at Arup including office, central plants/district energy, mixed use, education, residential and museum. Baumgardner was hired in 1998. He leads the San Francisco planning practice and has led multi-modal transportation projects. Carter is a civil engineer who was hired in 1997 and leads Arup's long span bridge business in the Americas region. Iddon was hired in 1993 and is the Americas program and project management skills leader. She has over 20 years of experience in the construction industry in the UK and the US. Wolfe has been with Arup for 13 years. He is a structural engineer and leads the New Jersey office. Yacknowitz is a mechanical engineer who was hired 2002 and leads the science and industry business in the Americas region.

In its Seattle office, B+H Architects hired Sandy Lu as a senior interior designer, Audrey de Filippis as a project designer and Karen Campbell as a senior project manager. Lu has nearly 10 years of interior design experience for hospitality projects. At B+H, she will work on hotel projects. Her previous work includes Suning Bellagio in Shanghai and Pinnacle Hotel in Vancouver, B.C., and she has worked for Starbucks and CHIL Design, a B+H studio. De Filippis has nine years of experience in architecture and design. She has worked on hospitality, residential and mixed-use projects, and her clients have included Embassy Suites Hotels and Hilton Restaurant Group. She will work on hospitality brand and concept development. Campbell will use her over 25 years of experience in workplace design and project management in working with corporate clients. She was with Callison and Safeco Insurance Co. Her clients have included MOD Pizza and Vulcan Real Estate.

He is an engineer with over 10 years of consulting experience, specializing in building enclosures, renovation, historic restoration, condition assessment, and remediation. In Seattle, Gensler hired Riley Atlas as a senior brand project designer and Andy Su as a senior designer. Atlas works in environmental graphic design, experience design and architecture, and has a background in exhibit, retail and communication design. He won the Rado Young Designer Award in the 2009 Dutch Design Awards, and has worked with clients such as Nike and prAna. Su has experience in academic, media, workplace, health care, GSA, transportation, hospitality, entertainment, retail and mixed-use projects. He has worked on Google's new campus in Mountain View, Calif., and Bloomberg's Experience Center in Hong Kong.

Buckland & Taylor's U.S. headquarters office in Seattle hired Barbara Moffat as director of project and quality management company-wide and Schaun Valdovinos as a senior bridge engineer. Moffat is a structural engineer and project manager who was Western regional quality manager at Jacobs. She has worked on bridges, tunnels and transit projects, and was station lead on East Link's final design, and project manager on the South Spokane Street widening and Fourth Avenue off-ramp projects. Valdovinos has worked on pedestrian, highway girder and elevated light rail bridge projects. Previously at Hatch Mott MacDonald, he was project engineer on East Link, and structural lead on South Link Light Rail, Phase 1 and 2. Buckland & Taylor is a COWI company and provides bridge engineering services worldwide.

Rice Fergus Miller hired Keith Evans as an architect in the community and health care studios, and Sean Moyano as a designer in the hospitality and community studios. Over the last 15 years, Evans has worked on housing, mixed-use, office, health care and master planning projects. Moyano holds a bachelor of architecture degree from New York Institute of Technology and has experience on health care and commercial projects. Bremerton-based Rice Fergus Miller is an architecture, interior design and planning firm.
