GGLO promoted Ted Panton to principal, Kim Aguilar Gregor to manager of library and archival services, and Chris Dana, George Valdez, Daniel Ash, Meaghan McDonald and David Marshall to associate. Panton is design director and has worked on mixed-use urban infill projects in western Washington. Aguilar Gregor oversees the reference and materials library, professional development and archives. Dana has 20 years of experience in corporate interiors, multifamily and higher education. Valdez has over 17 years of experience that includes multifamily, commercial, higher education, office and retail. Ash has experience in residential architecture, including skyscrapers. McDonald is trained as an architect and interior designer, and has worked on hospitality and housing. Marshall is a landscape architect who was hired in 2011.

BCRA named Don Mellott, Doug Oberst and Stuart Young as managing principals as part of a long-planned leadership transition for the firm, founded in 1989. BCRA also added four new shareholders: Paige Nilsen, director of marketing and business development; Gareth Roe, land use planning lead; Lori Robbin, interior design lead; and Ben Dort, civil engineering project manager. Rory Connally and Ken Rowan, who are among the founders, stepped down Jan. 1 They will collaborate with BCRA as leaders of a new independent sister company called BCRA Nexus, formed from the building science group of BCRA. Nexus provides building envelope design and commissioning, air barrier testing and forensic evaluation. Todd Wolf, BCRA shareholder and director of the building science group, joined Nexus as a shareholder. BCRA provides architecture, interior design, engineering, planning and landscape architecture, with offices in Seattle and Tacoma.

Seattle-based Berger Partnership promoted Brad McGuirt to associate. McGuirt joined the firm five years ago as a project manager. His projects include Pike Place Market Waterfront Entrance and Cross Kirkland Corridor's master plan. Berger Partnership provides landscape architectural and urban design services.

Spokane-based MW Consulting Engineers hired Tony Maiani as a construction manager/senior commissioning professional. He was with Maiani Construction Services and has over 20 years of experience in evaluating and optimizing building control systems, test and balance services, commissioning and troubleshooting mechanical systems.

In its Seattle office, IA Interior Architects appointed Kalman Axelrod and Annelle Stotz as senior associates and Stephen Blackstone, Katrina Cooper, Terry Huang, Michelle Kelly, Jason T. Mourray and Bhavik Rao as associates.

PCS Structural Solutions named Principal Jeff Klein director of human resources and employee development, and promoted Jason Collins to principal and director of engineering. Klein has been with PCS for 17 years, and designs hospital facilities, including for MultiCare Health System. Collins joined PCS 13 years ago, and works on housing, and office and hotel towers including Tacoma Convention Center Tower. Klein is in the Tacoma office, and Collins in Seattle.

In its Seattle office, Parametrix hired Jenifer Young as environmental planning and compliance division manager, and Alex Atchison as transportation group manager. Young has over 25 years of experience with environmental impact statements for projects. She was with CH2M Hill. Atchison has 17 years as a project manager in transportation planning, traffic analysis and impact studies. She was with Transpo Group. Parametrix provides engineering, planning and environmental sciences, with offices in the western U.S.

In its Seattle office, KDW Salas O'Brien hired Brenda Ross as director of critical environments to work on regional and national accounts. Ross is an architect with over 25 years of experience that includes design and construction management and complex systems design. She was with KDW Salas O'Brien from 1996 to 2004, working her way to principal. The firm provides facilities planning, design and construction management, with 14 offices in the U.S.

Ecotope, an energy efficiency research and design firm with Seattle and Portland offices, named Jonathan Heller as president, Shawn Oram as director of engineering and design, Poppy Storm as director of policy and planning, and Ben Larson as director of research and technology. Heller became principal engineer in 2007 and this year was awarded a 2016 First Place National ASHRAE Technology Award. Oram focuses on energy efficient mechanical system design. Storm manages the policy and research group on innovation and the company's contributions to regional and utility efficiency efforts. Larson has a background in energy efficiency, physics, experimental design, quantitative analysis and numerical modeling.

Spokane-based Bernardo|Wills Architects hired Timothy J. White as an architect and Erik Nelson as a project manager. White is working on renovation of the Survival School's gym at Fairchild Air Force Base under a contract with the Air Force. He has nearly 40 years of experience, and was with ZBA Architecture. Nelson is working on tenant improvements at Spokane International Airport. He was with Horty Elving, a health care architecture firm in Minneapolis. Bernardo|Wills provides architecture, interior design, landscape architecture and master planning.

Seattle-based Salus Architecture hired Mahta Ahmadnia as an architect in training. Ahmadnia holds degrees in community, environment and planning, and in Near Eastern languages from the University of Washington, and a masters of architecture from the University of Arizona. Salus plans and designs health care facilities.

In its Spokane office, ALSC Architects hired Sheila Boyce as an interior designer and Forest Wilson as a revit specialist. Boyce has over 27 years of experience that includes educational, medical, corporate, retail and residential design. She is working on Boone Avenue Mail Services Center at Gonzaga University. Wilson is working on Washington State University Soccer Stadium in Pullman. ALSC provides planning and design, with an office also in Coeur d'Alene, Idaho.
