The site of the Vancouver Olympic village for the most part was an abandoned industrial site. Ultimately the site will house 15 - 20,000 people. I hope that clarifies the issue a bit. We will provide updates on our site every few months or as warranted.

While the proposed layout of the new residential neighborhood is classic and therefore walkable, I would be hesitant to call it completely sustainable. How is the land being acquired? If eminent domain is used, is that considered sustainable? What happens to all the businesses that are currently located there? Are those family incomes lost forever? Saving the environment is more than putting a shinny green face on things.
