Our strange zoning has made townhouses ugly without adding much density. Absolutely. Our strange zoning has made townhouses ugly without adding much density. I’d love to be able to free Seattle to make beautiful but dense structures like San Francisco’s row houses. These, over time, have often become more dense by converting into flats.
