Couldn't agree more.  However, I am not sure we are really employing all the best practices and technologies.  Especially when we are in a rush to get people to work.

		<description>With respect to sidewalks, there really should be no inconsistency, if the City is willing to investigate and invest in porous pavements and vegetated sidewalk systems.  There are a number of alternatives: porous asphalt, porous concrete and porous paver systems.  In addition, rain gardens and trees can be planted adjacent to sidewalks to absorb all the water from the nearby surfaces, and make them more attractive.

It can be a win-win!
