I am Shawna Gamache, the architecture, engineering and city government reporter at the DJC.
I grew up here, but I’ve lived in other cities like Chicago, Portland, D.C. and Saint Petersburg, Russia, so I’ve got some of my own ideas on what makes our SeattleScape unique.
This blog will focus on how Seattle shapes itself- its design, its planning and its aspirations. We’ll talk about what the city builds, what it preserves and what it destroys.
From the shorelines to the skyscrapers, from the neighborhoods to the parks, Seattle has a lot of spaces that make us a unique place.
