Washington State University

Glen E. Duncan, Ph.D., former associate professor and graduate program coordinator for nutritional sciences at the University of Washington, has been named chair of Nutrition and Exercise Physiology at Washington State University Health Sciences Spokane.

Energi

Energi, a provider of risk management and insurance programs for the energy industry based in Peabody, Massachusetts, has opened its first Pacific Northwest regional office at Legacy Crown Pointe in Kirkland. Patricia K. Boudrot said this will give the firm access to more energy markets in the U.S. and Canada. Five Energi employees are moving to Kirkland and the company expects additional hiring. Energi has offices in New Jersey, Florida, Texas, Illinois, California, Connecticut and Toronto. Derek Davidson is regional vice president.

King County

The Metropolitan King County Council and Seattle City Council confirmed Patty Hayes as director of Public Health-Seattle & King County. Hayes has been interim director since August 2014. Before joining Public Health in 2012 she was executive director of WithinReach, a statewide nonprofit that connects families to food and health resources, and also held leadership positions at Washington State Department of Health.

Heartwood Provisions

A new restaurant called Heartwood Provisions will open at First and Spring in Seattle serving contemporary American cuisine and beverages. Cocktail and wine industry expert Amanda Reed will be beverage director. She was recruited early to help build the cocktail and wine menu, design the bar and collaborate with Chef Varin Keokitvon on pairing food and beverages.

Olympic Physical Therapy

ATI Physical Therapy of Bolingbrook, Illinois, said it has added Olympic Physical Therapy's nine clinics in the Puget Sound area to its brand. ATI said the addition means it will have 33 outpatient physical therapy clinics in Washington state. Olympic provides physical therapy, sports medicine and workers' compensation services. The management team and clinic staff will continue in their roles. ATI has more than 470 clinics in 16 states.

Washington State University

Washington State University Interim President Dan Bernardo named Ron Mittelhammer interim co-provost. He is dean of the College of Agricultural, Human and Natural Resource Sciences. Mittelhammer named Kimberlee Kidwell acting dean for CAHNRS. Mittelhammer will be interim co-provost with Erica Austin, vice provost of WSU.

Martinez

KPLU/Jazz24 hired Matt Martinez as director of content. He is leaving NPR after 15 years as a producer, most recently as senior producer for programming.

Portland Community College

Portland Community College said Sylvia Kelley will be the school's interim president while a national search continues for a new president. Kelley has been acting president of Oregon's biggest post-secondary institution since May 18, replacing Jeremy Brown.
