Lawler

Kelly J. Lawler has joined DESC as director of information services. She has 20 years of tech experience at companies, nonprofits and two Olympic Games. Her team of 10 supports more than 600 employees who serve almost 10,000 homeless people.







vCORE Technology Partners

Scottsdale, Ariz.-based vCORE Technology Partners is expanding in Washington state with a new office in Renton. The firm provides IT services, with locations in six U.S. states and Canada. The Renton office will be in Triton Towers. Clients include media, health care and technology companies.

School's Out Washington

School's Out Washington has a new CEO: Elizabeth Whitford. She was executive director of Arts Corps, an arts education and youth development organization, and was executive director of Odyssey Youth Center in Spokane. SOWA focuses on after-school, youth development and summer programs for children and youth.

Comcast

Comcast named Amy Lynch regional VP for the Washington region, based in Lynnwood. Lynch replaces Kyle McSlarrow, who will become the new senior vice president for customer experience. Lynch was VP of engineering operations for Comcast ‘s West Division.

City of Tacoma

Tacoma City Council appointed Elizabeth Pauli to city manager. She is the first woman to hold this position. Pauli had been Tacoma's interim city manager since February and was city attorney before that. She was a partner at McGavick Graves in Tacoma.

Seattle City Club

The Seattle City Club said the Nancy Nordhoff Civic Leadership Award goes to Vu Le, who it called a civic visionary and community builder. Le founded the Rainier Valley Corps and work to cultivate leaders of color, strengthen organizations and encourage collaboration between diverse communities.

Woodland Park Zoo

Woodland Park Zoo has a new vice president of education, Wei Ying Wong, PhD., who was with the Philadelphia Zoo as director of conservation impact. She also worked at The Ocean Project to help zoos, aquariums and nature centers develop tools and strategies for conservation.

City of Spokane

The former U.S. attorney for Eastern Washington, Mike Ormsby, has been appointed city attorney for Spokane. He was confirmed this week to head the city legal department.

Nativis

Nativis Inc., a clinical stage, bio-electronic life science company developing treatments for serious diseases, named Dr. Donna Morgan Murray chief regulatory officer. She was head of Global Quality & Regulatory Compliance at Bristol-Meyers Squibb, and president of ZymoGenetics.
