Dale Estey

Suzanne Dale Estey, former president and CEO of the Economic Development Council of Seattle & King County, has joined Gallatin Public Affairs as a partner in Seattle. She has more than 25 years of leadership experience in economic development, public policy, public affairs, strategic communications, intergovernmental relations and nonprofits, including as economic development director for Renton, and state lobbyist for the city of Seattle.

Everett Public Library

Cooley

Everett Public Library named Abby Cooley the library's next director, replacing Eileen Simmons, who is retiring after nearly 20 years. Cooley is library manager at Baltimore County Public Library's Reisterstown and Hereford branches.

Hagens Berman Sobol Shapiro

Hagens Berman Sobol Shapiro said it will renew its focus on environmental law with a dedicated environmental practice, and add three environmental litigators to the national team. Matthew Pawa, Benjamin Krass and Wesley Kelman formerly of Pawa Law Group in Boston will join the firm. They worked on global warming cases for more than a decade. Pawa will co-lead the practice area with Steve Berman.

LMG

LMG, a national provider of video, audio and lighting support, was awarded a contract as onsite audio-visual supplier for the Washington State Convention Center in Seattle. LMG recently hired Jill Hashimoto as sales manager and Josh Highland as account executive. It opened a 20,000-square-foot office and warehouse in Renton last year.

FCS Group

Redmond-based FCS Group has hired Jason Mumm, an expert in municipal utility finances and rate making, as an executive consultant and leader of its new office in Boulder, Colorado. Mumm has 21 years of experience in water, wastewater, and stormwater finances and rates. He will focus on expansion and consulting. FCS provides rate and fee consulting, asset management consulting, financial planning and analysis, and economic services to public clients in the western U.S.

Schmidt Financial Group

New York-based Dynasty Financial Partners said Schmidt Financial Group of Kirkland has joined its network of advisory firms. Schmidt Financial Group manages more than $300 million in client assets. It was founded in 1993 by Glenda Schmidt, who taught financial planning seminars in Redmond. Her son Evan Schmidt is a principal.

Bellevue Arts Museum

Bellevue Arts Museum named Benedict Heywood executive director. He will assume both curatorial and operational leadership in a move to streamline operations and focus resources for development. Heywood founded the Soap Factory art space in Minneapolis, and came to Seattle to lead Pivot Art + Culture for Paul Allen. Eileen Herbert, currently BAM's curator of learning and public programming, will assume the role of director of advancement. She will build the development team and oversee fundraising.

PCC Natural Markets

PCC Natural Markets of Seattle has a new name: PCC Community Markets. It has also added new offerings from local producers such as yogurt, ready-to-cook meals and spirits. PCC started as a food buying club in 1953.

Dorsey & Whitney

Dorsey & Whitney LLP said Jeremy (Jake) R. Larson has joined the Trial Group in Seattle as a partner. Larson will also be part of the Health Care and Public-Private Partnerships groups. He has 25 years of experience representing clients in state and federal trial and appellate courts and arbitrations. Larson was litigation chair at Foster Pepper in Seattle. Dorsey has offices in the U.S., Canada, Europe and the Asia-Pacific region.
