Q: I have been in corporate America for nearly 25 years and am itching to test my wings as an entrepreneur. Up until last fall, I was ready to launch, but now with the apparent economic downturn, I’m edgy about going out on a limb. What do you think? With things so volatile, should I wait a while to risk?
A: Not knowing your specific situation, I must reply with some generalizations which reflect my view about risk-taking in general. To better understand how I view this subject, you need to know one of my favorite quotes, which goes like this: “Behold the lowly turtle. It only gets ahead by sticking its neck out.”
