Washington State University - Pullman, WA; Clinical Assistant Professor or permanent full-time tenured/tenure-track Assistant/Associate Professor of Construction Management. The School of Design and Construction seeks applications for the position of Clinical Professor or Assistant/Associate Professor in the Construction Management program.
Responsibilities: The successful candidate will have the ability and desire to teach at undergraduate and graduate levels in selected aspects of construction management including, but not limited to, estimating, construction cost accounting, construction law, and project management. Additionally responsibilities of the successful candidate will include conducting research, participating in School committees, student mentoring, and a willingness to offer continuing education and short courses to industry and students.
Required: Master’s degree in Construction Management or related discipline; five years professional experience in a construction project management capacity; ability to conduct research and scholarly activities in a defined area of interest; ability to work in a team environment and to be involved in collaborative projects. For Clinical Professor, candidate must have a demonstrated teaching record, a minimum of 5 years relevant industry experience, and a proven record of collaborative work with the construction (building) industry. For Associate Professor, the candidate must have a PhD in Construction Management or related discipline plus five years of teaching and research experience in an accredited professional degree program in Construction management by the date of hire, and at least 6 years as an assistant professor or equivalent. And, an ability and desire to teach at undergraduate and graduate levels in selected aspects of construction management (e.g., estimating, construction cost accounting, construction law, and project management).
Preferred: PhD in Construction Management or related discipline by the date of hire. ABD will be considered with an expectation of completion within one (1) year of hiring date ; professional registration/certification such as PE, AIA, LEED, CPC, or DBIA; previous teaching experience at the university level; demonstrated development of funded research and/or scholarly achievements; ability to develop and deliver elective courses in construction management; experience in one or more of the following: heavy civil, commercial or large scale residential construction, land development, or specialty contracting; experience and ability in alternative project delivery, facilities management, sustainability, or virtual design and construction (VDC); proficiency in Revit, Navisworks, or similar software.
