Students have renovated five buildings for Sitka Fine Arts Camp in Alaska

  • The camp runs an internship program that since 2012 has rehabbed five buildings at Sheldon Jackson College.

    Young people recently rehabbed the facade of the 1911 Fraser Hall. The intern program is led by professional builders, who perform the skilled carpentry work, oversee the project, teach proper use of tools, and give regular safety orientations.

    SITKA, Alaska — A century-old building is starting to look like new on the Sheldon Jackson College campus in Sitka, as volunteers neared the end of the Historic Restoration internship program.
