Sequoyah Electric hired Derek Reischman as an estimator and David Bykerk as a purchasing agent at its Redmond headquarters. Reischman has experience in the roadwork/industrial side of the electrical construction industry. He holds a bachelor's degree in construction management from Washington State University. Bykerk has more than a dozen years of experience working for electrical suppliers.
Rick Whitney on Oct. 1 will become chief executive officer of Minneapolis-based Adolfson & Peterson Construction. Whitney was president and CEO for the past six years at M+W U.S. in Watervliet, N.Y. He succeeds interim CEO Steven Pinney, who has held that role since CEO Doug Jaeger stepped down in December 2013. A&P has an office in Tacoma.

PSF Mechanical hired Rick Wardrop as HVAC service technician, Helen Hodges as junior marketing coordinator/graphic designer, Gaye Schmidt-Larimer as VCM sheet metal detailer and Joshua Summers as project design engineer. Wardrop has nearly 30 years of experience with a variety of industry-related companies. Hodges recently earned a bachelor's degree in visual communication design from Cornish College of the Arts. Schmidt-Larimer has been with the Local 66 International Sheet Metal Workers Union for 29 years and holds an associate's degree from Milwaukee Area Technical College. Summers recently graduated with a bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering from Santa Clara University.
The Tacoma office of Adolfson & Peterson Construction hired Roy Kennedy as director of preconstruction and estimating for AP Integrated Systems, an A&P subsidiary, and Amy Patten as accounting specialist. Kennedy is focusing on APiS's prefabricated light-gauge-steel wall panel system used for multifamily, hospitality, student housing, healthcare and senior housing projects. He has more than 20 years of industry experience. Patten has more than 10 years of industry experience in accounting and accounts payable. She is responsible for subcontractor relations and prequalifications.
Walsh Construction Co. promoted Angella Hould to assistant project manager in Seattle. Hould joined the company in 2009 as a project engineer and was promoted to field operations coordinator in 2012. Her new duties include estimating, value engineering, job costing and schedule monitoring.
The Construction Industry Training Council of Washington hired Blanca Lizaola as apprenticeship records assistant. Prior to joining CITC, Lizaola worked as a paraeducator and in the hospitality industry. She holds an associate's degree in special education from Renton Technical College, and is earning a bachelor's degree in hospitality management from South Seattle College.
Hammer & Hand won Custom Builder of the Year at the recent 2014 Green Building Awards held by Earth Advantage in Portland. Hammer & Hand builds residential and commercial projects in Portland and Seattle.
