Anderson

Dave Anderson joined Seattle-based Specification Sales Inc. Anderson previously worked for 13 years at Mechanical Sales Inc. in Seattle and for 10 years at Familian Northwest. He is experienced in handling large commercial and industrial projects in the plumbing, piping and heating industries. Specification Sales is a 41-year-old manufacturer's representative.

Milgard

Kevin Vilhauer, engineering manager of testing and certification at Milgard in Tacoma, was elected to the National Fenestration Rating Council board of directors. Vilhauer joined Milgard in 2000 and has since obtained seven patents and was one of the inventors of the SmartTouch Lock. NFRC provides ratings and labeling that compare the performance of windows, doors and skylights.

RDH Building Sciences

Vancouver, B.C.-based RDH Building Sciences opened an office in Oakland and hired Joseph Pinon to run it. Pinon has many years of experience as a building enclosure consultant in the Bay Area. Colin Shane, a senior project consultant for RDH, relocated from Vancouver to help run the Oakland office. RDH also has offices in Seattle and Portland.

Oles Morrison Rinker & Baker was selected as a Tier 1 “Best Law Firm” by U.S. News Group and Best Lawyers, a peer-review publication in the legal profession. The firm has received the designation in every publication since the inaugural 2010 edition. OMRB has offices on the West Coast, including Seattle, and practices in construction, government contracts, business law and commercial litigation.

Ritchie Bros. Auctioneers

Vancouver, B.C.-based Ritchie Bros. Auctioneers is making several changes to its senior management team, including the addition of three regional business leaders: Randy Wall as president of Canada; Jeroen Rijk as senior vice president and managing director of Europe; and Kieran Holm as vice president and managing director of Asia Pacific. Ritchie also appointed Jim Barr as group president of emerging businesses, brand innovation and technology services; and is searching for a president of U.S. and Latin America, and a new chief human resources officer. CEO Ravi Saligram is directing the changes.

The Seattle office of Abbott Construction promoted Ed Santander to project executive, Garry Fulghum to senior project engineer, Brenda Brousseau to lead project assistant and Julius Zanders to IT Help Desk level 1. Santander joined Abbott in 2007 and is focusing on client relationships and acquiring work. Fulghum joined the company eight years ago in the field before interning and moving into a project engineer role. He is working in the estimating department. Brousseau joined Abbott in 2012 with 25 years of industry experience. Her new duties are training and providing guidance to project assistants at all three regional offices. Zanders was hired as an IT intern last fall while working on his degree in network systems administration. He responds to help desk requests.

Seattle-based PSF Mechanical hired Brandon Hyslip as service/air-balancing technician, Jenny Yin as project design engineer and Renee Sanek as project manager I. Hyslip has five years of industry experience and is certified under the National Environmental Balancing Bureau. Yin recently earned a bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering from Seattle University. Sanek has more than 24 years of industry experience, including six years in project management.

Oles Morrison Rinker & Baker

Samuel E. Baker, a partner at the law firm of Oles Morrison Rinker & Baker, was elected a member of the 2014 class of the National Academy of Construction. Baker was inducted last month with 27 others at the NAC annual meeting in Austin, Texas.

Absher Construction Co.

Puyallup-based Absher Construction Co. won two awards from the Design-Build Institute of America for its Schofield Barracks project in Hawaii. The design-build team of Absher and Tetra Tech won the National Award of Merit and the National Award of Excellence in the civic category at the 2014 awards program. BCE Engineers was the project's engineer.
