Parker

Gig Harbor-based Rush Residential hired Renee Parker as sales and production administrator, Jessica Hecker as purchasing assistant and Trevor Sherman as carpenter. Parker is a former community manager and data analyst in the areas of clinical research and mortgage banking. She's also a Lean Six Sigma administrator. Hecker started in the homebuilding industry in 1998, working with accounts payable, permitting and compliance. Sherman has many years of carpentry experience. Rush expects an 80 percent jump this year in sales of its custom homes.

Oregon Tile & Marble

Portland-based Oregon Tile & Marble is now part of Bedrosians Tile and Stone. Oregon Tile operates in Portland, Medford, Seattle, Boise and Spokane. Bedrosians says it has worked with Oregon Tile for 30 years. Oregon Tile's new name is Oregon Tile & Marble a Bedrosians Company. Bedrosians has more than 40 branches, mostly in the West but also in the Southeast.

Cleator

Lease Crutcher Lewis promoted 28-year industry veteran Jeff Cleator to president of its Washington operation. Gary Smith, who has been president since 2012, is now focusing on major pursuits and project execution in an executive role. Cleator started at the company as an intern and worked into the roles of project engineer, project manager, senior project manager, Commercial Division manager and vice president. He is a graduate of the College of Built Environments and the Executive Management Program at the University of Washington. He also is a member of the Lean Construction Institute and founded the company's continuous improvement initiative called Lewis Lean.

At its Tukwila office, The Walsh Group hired Richard Horne as quality control manager, Craig M. Peterson Jr. as project engineer, Denny Lykins as project superintendent, Jeff Edman as project manager and Rhiannon Berndt as administrative assistant. Horne has 14 years of experience as an MEP inspector, quality control manager and senior electrical field engineer. Peterson has over 10 years of experience in project controls, coordination and project management. Lykins previously was construction manager for an electrical project in Chicago. Edman has managed projects for 20 years that involve high-tech, data centers and clean rooms. Berndt has over four years of administrative experience. She is attending school for a degree in construction management then civil engineering. Horne, Lykins and Edman are all working on the Denny Substation project. Peterson is working on a seismic upgrade at Naval Base Kitsap.

MCA of Western Washington

Shinn Mechanical, Auburn Mechanical and JH Kelly each won a Safety Excellence Award from the Mechanical Contractors Association of Western Washington. Shinn was selected for its use of DOSH consultant services, strong involvement of upper management and foremen, and low EMR and recordable rate. Auburn Mechanical was cited for high training hours, DOSH involvement, low recordable rate and strong executive involvement. Kelly was chosen for its extensive safety programs, end results, safety manual, innovation and activities involving families.
