In its Seattle office, Lease Crutcher Lewis hired Ed Stevenson as project manager; and promoted Brian Aske to project executive, and Sara Angus, James Furlan and Kathryn Emtman to senior project managers. Stevenson has 10 years of construction experience, and holds a bachelor’s degree from Western Washington University and a project management certificate from the University of Washington. Aske, DBIA, LEED AP, is focusing on projects with an integrated team approach. He started in construction in 1993 and joined Lewis in 2006, and holds a bachelor’s degree in construction management from California State University Chico. Angus is an 18-year construction professional with two stints at Lewis: 2005-10 and starting in 2014. She holds a bachelor’s degree and a certificate in construction management, both from the UW. Furlan has been in construction since 2004 and joined Lewis in 2014. He holds a bachelor’s degree in civil engineering from the University of Saskatchewan. Emtman started in the industry in 1997 and joined Lewis in 2005. She holds a bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering and a master’s degree in engineering management from Washington State University.

The Rafn Co. hired Jamie Creek as senior project manager and Emmanuel Diaz as project engineer; and promoted Kevin Rowe to project manager, Curtis Parker and Brandt Bullock to assistant superintendents, and Thomas J. Ambrey to project engineer. Creek has 39 years of construction experience and previously was senior project manager at Synergy Construction. Diaz has about three years of experience as project manager and architectural designer for Carletti Architects and Tonkin Architecture. Rowe started as project engineer at Rafn in 2006 and is managing the Green Lake Apartments project. Parker has been with Rafn since 1992, starting with a carpentry apprenticeship at the Construction Industry Training Council. Bullock was foreman since returning to Rafn in 2013 and is working on the AMLI Wallingford project. Ambrey recently completed the University of Washington construction management certificate program.

Jay Halleran, DBIA, joined Lease Crutcher Lewis as executive vice president. Halleran earned a bachelor's degree in construction management at the University of Washington, then spent 35 years at NBBJ rising to managing partner. At Lewis, he is focusing on the healthcare and institutional markets, while strengthening the company's focus on integrated project delivery.

Tahni Hartso joined The Walsh Group as project engineer in the estimating department. Hartso recently obtained a master's degree in construction management from the University of Washington. She previously worked as business development specialist for local minority painting subcontractor American Construction & Coatings.

James Kahler

Rick Kahler

Woodinville-based Northwest Partitions appointed Rick Kahler as CEO and James Kahler as president. Rick Kahler founded the company in 1982 and had been president since then. James Kahler has more than 20 years of industry experience and served as the company's vice president since 2004. He holds a bachelor's degree in construction management from the University of Washington and serves on the boards of several local associations. Rick Kahler remains the sole shareholder of the union wall and ceiling contractor.
