Acres International is a major North American engineering and environmental consulting firm which is owned outright by its senior employees. Acres staff operate from permanent offices across North America and from project offices around the world providing high quality products and services to clients throughout the United States and Canada and in more than 70 countries worldwide. Acres operates as an independent consulting firm, earning all of its revenues through the provision of planning, engineering, construction management and environmental services.

Since its founding, Acres has provided engineering and construction management services to the electric power supply industry, initially in Canada, but also for many years in the United States and the rest of the world. Consulting services to electric power utilities remain the core of Acres activities. The Company has diversified its field of activities over the past 35 years to add capability in water resources projects (other than hydro), transportation, marine, iron and steel, as well as oil and gas. Activities complementary to engineering include economics, planning, environmental studies and agriculture.

The Company has participated in a large number of power developments in the U.S., Canada, and overseas, which have incorporated earth, rock-fill and concrete dams, surface and underground power plants, power tunnels, and transmission lines, and substations at all conventional voltage levels. In total, the Company has been involved with the installation of over 27,000 MW of power generating facilities worldwide and has conducted feasibility studies for projects totaling more than 62,000 MW. At present, Acres is engaged in the development of an additional 14,200 MW.

Since its opening in 1997, the focus of the Seattle office is to provide hydropower engineering and FERC licensing services from conception and planning studies through final engineering, construction management and project operation. The Seattle office is also able to draw on the expertise and manpower from any of the 700 staff from other Acres' offices as needed to fulfill the requirements of a project and needs of our clients.
