Federal Way tries to help developers think about future

  • The city hopes to attract developers with public and foreign investment, and a new performing arts and conference center.

    Federal Way hasn't had many takers on offers of public money to spur downtown redevelopment, but the city is trying to convince developers to look to the future.

    Economic Development Director Patrick Doherty said many developers are just trying to keep their head above water these days, but the city hopes that offering incentives and amenities will get them thinking about better days.
