When you begin a new project, do you jump in and get to work, or do you sit back and calmly plan your approach?
It is common for project managers to plan their technical approach, and much less common to plan for effective communication. Some clients are superb communicators, providing data on time and quickly answering questions. Others are impossible to reach, and when you finally get them their responses can be ambiguous. I asked some prominent designers to explain how they kick off projects.
