SEATTLE — The Aurora Avenue Bridge is better shape for the next big earthquake, with new expansion joints, reinforced columns, and extra concrete and steel that will allow it to bend and flex.
The bridge between Queen Anne and Fremont is considered a life-safety route. Construction on the $5.7 million project began in 2011 and is now substantially complete.
