City hires Transpo for traffic study

SEATTLE — The Seattle Department of Transportation said it has hired the transportation consulting firm Transpo to study how to put into use an adaptive traffic signal system.

The system would allow a corridor's signals to respond immediately to changing traffic flows, improve signal synchronization and real-time message signs, and increase public access to construction information and traffic conditions.
