SEATTLE — The city's first downtown protected bike lanes opened on Monday on Second Avenue between Pike Street and Yesler Way. New bike lanes also opened on adjoining stretches of Pike Street and Yesler Way.
In addition to the bike lanes, the city installed new traffic signals to let cyclists know when to move, and left-turn signals for drivers headed onto eastbound streets.
