AIA Seattle is presenting an exhibit titled “Passage: Art By Architects,” with a reception from 5 to 7 p.m. July 10 at 1911 First Ave.

The exhibit shows work by AIA members and runs through Aug. 13.

The art ranges from 3D printed sculptures to black and white photography, as well as a digitally interactive screen.

The piece shown here is “Where Have You Been,” created by Jack Chaffin, Scott Crawford and Mona Zellers as part of the 2014 Seattle Storefront's Exhibit. It was installed at Seattle Center's International Pavilion.

A pattern of cells was cut into a sheet of acrylic using a computer-controlled machine to create an abstracted map of Seattle that is difficult to grasp at first glance. Viewers could enter places they had been in Seattle and animate cells that corresponded to the locations with a digital projector.

Other artists in the exhibit include David Baird, Travis Clarke, Jonathan French, Marshall Turner, Megan Harmon, Laura Kraft, Brad McGuirt and John Pasco.

Light refreshments will be provided at the reception. R.S.V.P. at http://tiny.cc/m28yzx/.
