TWISP, OKANOGAN COUNTY — The town of Twisp is looking to draw more tourism and economic development.
Twisp, with a population of 940, is the largest town in north-central Washington's Methow Valley, a popular area for outdoor activities.
The town is looking for consultants to prepare a master plan with strategies to give local arts and businesses a boost. Improvements would include better parking and signage, lighting, and new “gateway” structures.
Qualifications are due to the town by 5 p.m. Sept. 2. For details, see the public notice in the Aug. 20 DJC.
In recent weeks, Twisp and other towns throughout the area have been battling what's now considered the largest wildfire in state history.
