Block party kicks off design festival

Last year’s block party brought people to Pioneer Square.

The Seattle Design Festival Block Party is set for 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. Sept. 12 and 13 at Occidental Park in Pioneer Square.

Installations, performances and activities will explore this year's theme: Design for Equity.

The block party kicks off the design festival, which runs through Sept. 25 at venues across the city.
