Eight houses will be on the 2016 Seattle Modern Home Tour from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. Saturday.

The annual event is sponsored by Modern Home Tours of Austin, Texas. Seattle Architecture Foundation is the nonprofit partner.

Stops include a floating home built with turn-of-the-century old growth timber, a cross-laminated timber home, a Passive house, a renovated mid-century house and a redesigned gambrel-style colonial home.

Tickets are $35 in advance at http://tiny.cc/l6iyay and $40 on the tour day. The tour is self-guided, using a map and GPS.
