An opening reception will be held for the exhibit “Boom: Changing Seattle” from 5 to 8 p.m. July 7 at 1010 Western Ave. in Seattle.

The free exhibit was produced by Design in Public and the Seattle Architecture Foundation. It runs through Aug. 27, from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. Tuesday through Friday, and from 1 to 5 p.m. on Saturday.

The exhibit is a tribute to places lost, preserved and desired during moments of rapid development and growth in Seattle. It incorporates archival and recent photos, documents and contemporary art to position history and memory as integral to innovation.

The exhibit is curated by Aletheia Wittman of SAF and Susan Surface of Design in Public.

The artists featured in the show include Ghosts of Seattle Past, C. Davida Ingram, Invisible Seattle, No Touching Ground, Eroyn Franklin, Paul Komada, Rodrigo Valenzuela and Inye Wokoma.
