ODOT to help redesign bridge

REEDSPORT, Ore. (AP) — The Oregon Department of Transportation is planning to drill test holes into the bed of the Umpqua River as a way to test design elements of the proposed new Scottsburg Bridge on Highway 38.

The Register-Guard reports that the drilling near Reedsport should yield important geotechnical information to inform the design of the new bridge.
