SEATTLE — Sound Transit is reporting big gains in light rail ridership fueled by the opening of the 3.2-mile University Link extension in mid-March.
The agency said yesterday that second-quarter Link ridership numbers for weekday boardings were up 76 percent over the same period last year. The average of 63,577 weekday riders in April through June this year was a new record for second quarter ridership.
