TUMWATER — A waterfront dock busy with cranes, trucks and forklifts can pose many hazards for workers. Knowing the latest tools and techniques to prevent injuries can make a real difference. That's what the state's upcoming Maritime Safety Day is about.
The all-day event will be held Oct. 25 in Des Moines by the Department of Labor & Industries and the Governor's Industrial Safety & Health Conference Advisory Board. It will begin at 7 a.m. at the Beach Park Event Center, 22030 Cliff Ave. S.
