The park has a swing treehouse, boulders and a “listening log.”

The Meridian Habitat Park nature playground has opened at 144th St. East and Meridian Ave. in Puyallup.

MIG|SvR designed the park and Lake Tapps Construction Unlimited built it.

Pierce County Parks and Recreation operates the park, which has a net climber, swing treehouse, boulders and logs, and a “listening log” through which people can whisper to their friends.

This first phase of the new playground offers equipment that is accessible for children of all abilities. Equipment for climbing, swinging and spinning is designed with low entry points so children can be transferred from mobility devices.

An entrance courtyard and restroom will be added at a later date.
