This image shows the new concept for the Ocean Pavilion that Seattle Aquarium wants to build along the waterfront after the viaduct comes down.
The latest plan is for the aquarium addition to be integrated into the Overlook Walk, a new pathway for taking pedestrians between Pike Place Market and the waterfront.
The Overlook Walk will connect with the MarketFront addition that just opened at Pike Place Market.
Learn more about the current design for the Overlook Walk and Ocean Pavilion in today's Design Perspectives.
The grand opening for MarketFront is Thursday from 2 to 7 p.m. at 1901 Western Ave. It's free and open to the public.
Waterfront Seattle is also holding an open house about the Overlook Walk on July 20 from 6 to 8 p.m. at the MarketFront Pavilion to get comments and ideas about the design.
