Landmarks meeting on Bonney-Watson

Seattle's Landmarks Preservation Board on Dec. 6 will consider nominating the Bonney-Watson Funeral Home at 1732 Broadway on Capitol Hill as a city landmark.

The meeting is at 3:30 p.m. in Boards & Commissions Room L2-80 of Seattle City Hall at 600 Fourth Ave.

Written comments should be received by Dec. 5 at Seattle Landmarks Preservation Board, Seattle Department of Neighborhoods, P.O. Box 94649, Seattle, WA 98124-4649.

The landmark nomination application, submitted by David Peterson, is at http://tiny.cc/v9jroy under “Current Nominations.”

Mill Creek Residential Trust has the Bonney-Watson Funeral Home site under contract, and is working with Weber Thompson on designing 224 apartments in two six-story buildings. They would be on separate parcels with separate addresses.

The larger parcel is at 1812 Broadway, north of East Howell Street. The smaller parcel is south of Howell, at 1732 Broadway. Both are near the Capitol Hill Station.
