SEATTLE (AP) — A new report says that the maximum $10 toll fee for Interstate 405 should be increased to reduce congestion on the express toll lanes.
The report by experts from the Department of Civil, Environmental and Geo-Engineering at the University of Montana was released Wednesday.
The report recommends charging drivers higher rates during more congested periods of the daily commute.
It also suggests charging by segment instead of charging drivers a single toll rate for the entire 17-mile (27-kilometer) corridor between Lynnwood and Bellevue.
State lawmakers had requested the report.
They will discuss the report's findings on Thursday.
