Historic Seattle will hold its members meeting at 5:30 p.m. Feb. 1 at The Museum of Flight at 9404 E. Marginal Way S.
Museum staff will speak about the museum's role in preserving and curating flight heritage at the museum and at its Flight Restoration Center and Reserve Collection at Paine Field in Everett.
Attendees can visit the museum after the meeting, until 9 p.m., including the restored 1909 Red Barn building, which was Boeing's earliest manufacturing facility. In 1975, the museum acquired it from the Port of Seattle for $1 and barged it up the Duwamish River.
The photo here shows the building being moved to the museum. It was restored and opened to the public in 1983.
The meeting is free and open to the public, but donations are accepted. Register at http://tiny.cc/8cevpy/.
