City gets $3M to improve parks

SEATTLE — Seattle Mayor Jenny Durkan said $3.1 million in new state grants will help upgrade trail systems, playfields and outdoor recreation facilities in the city.

Here are some of the projects that will get funding: $250,000 to convert Brighton Playfield to synthetic turf with new LED lighting; $374,950 to renovate Don Armeni Boat Launch; $250,000 for the Smith Cove Youth Playfield; $1 million to construct a transient moorage float in Leschi and $768,000 to improve Stan Sayers Boat Launch.
