Design Perspectives: The real work along the waterfront is what you don't see

There's a sense of suspended animation these days along the Seattle waterfront. Most of the action is underground.

Right now, work on the state Route 99 tunnel continues in advance of the demolition of the Alaskan Way Viaduct, and utilities are being revised to fit future surface improvements along Alaskan Way.
