AHBL promoted structural engineers Drew McEachern and Ken Leland, and landscape architect Jason Morse to principal, and civil engineers David Nason, Bill Fierst and Erick Fitzpatrick to associate principal. McEachern joined the firm 20 years ago. His projects include the Advanced Technology Center at Bates Technical College. Leland has been with AHBL for 20 years, with work that includes Roosevelt Way Apartments in Seattle. Morse has 21 years of experience. He was promoted to director of landscape architecture in 2014, and has led the department through a period of unprecedented growth, with work that includes Centennial Garden at the Washington Park Arboretum. Nason spent the past 11 years of his 20-year career as a civil project manager in the Tacoma office. He is working on Birney Elementary for Tacoma Public Schools. Fierst has spent his 18-year career at AHBL working on education, federal and commercial projects. His work includes the 6th and Alder mixed-use project in Tacoma. Fitzpatrick joined AHBL in 2012. He has 12 years of experience and oversees civil engineering in the Spokane and Tri-Cities offices. He has worked on Liberty Lake Road for the city of Liberty Lake. AHBL provides civil and structural engineering, landscape architecture, community planning and land surveying.
