SEATTLE — The city is seeking a consultant to design pedestrian and street improvements along parts of Main, Washington, King and Yesler streets between Second Avenue and Alaskan Way to connect the core of Pioneer Square to the new waterfront.
The project will provide safer pedestrian connections and encourage activity on key east-west streets in the neighborhood, according to a notice in the June 12 DJC. Qualifications are due by July 9.
Construction is expected to start in March 2021 and be complete in May 2022. The total project budget is $20 million, with $2.2 million – $2.8 million of that slated for design and design services during construction.
The project is part of Seattle's ongoing redevelopment of its central waterfront — from Pioneer Square to Belltown.
