AIA Seattle’s Young Architects Forum will offer a tour of the podium at the 1.4 million-square-foot Hyatt Regency Seattle from 4 to 6 p.m. July 18.

R. C. Hedreen Co. is developing the project, which is slated to open in December and will be the Northwest’s largest hotel.

LMN Architects is the architect, interior designer and urban designer, and Sellen Construction the contractor.

The 45-story complex is composed of a 37-story tower with 1,260 hotel rooms atop an eight-story podium. The podium is bisected at street level by a mid-block connector.

LMN said the tower’s monolithic composition will provide a “bold, yet quiet, counterpoint” to the highly articulated neighboring towers, and the light color will help it blend into the skyline.

The podium will have 103,000 square feet of meeting and ballroom space, a restaurant, bar, retail and hotel lobby. Atop the podium will be a rooftop terrace, a glass-enclosed fitness center and club lounge.

The project is seeking LEED gold certification.

The team also includes Zena Design Group (hotel room design, tower lobby interior design); Berger Partnership (landscape architecture); Coughlin Porter Lundeen (civil engineering); Graham Baba Architects (restaurant design); Magnusson Klemencic Associates (structural engineering); Arup (MEP engineering); HLB (lighting design); Ricca (food service and laundry); and Studio SC (graphics and wayfinding).

The tour costs $5. Register at https://tinyurl.com/yaz3stut/.
