In Seattle, Schnabel Engineering hired Stephen Benson and Stephen W. Goodin as senior vice presidents. Benson is a senior civil engineer specializing in hydroelectric and other water resource projects. He was a Federal Energy Regulatory Commission independent consultant for Part 12 dam safety inspections and evaluations of 28 hydroelectric facilities. Goodin has a background in geological engineering and rock mechanics, and in geotechnical investigation and soils engineering. His design and construction consulting experience includes concrete and embankment dams, spillways, tunnels, powerhouses, nuclear power and nuclear waste repositories. The men have worked elsewhere together, and will mentor staff and be senior technical resources for projects. Benson also will assist with business development. Schnabel participates in planning, study, design and construction of geotechnical, dam and tunnel engineering projects.
