12 projects win civic design awards from AIA

The American Institute of Architects Washington Council announced 12 projects won the 2018 Civic Design Awards.

To be eligible, projects must receive public funding, be in Washington, and be designed by architects from Washington. There were 45 entries, and four award levels: honor, merit, citation and honorable mention.

The jury was Corey Martin, a design principal at Hacker; Barbara Sestak, a professor of architecture at Portland State University; and David E. Wark, a principal with Hennebery Eddy Architects.
