NAMPA, Idaho — When she goes to the grocery store, Caldwell resident Karen Leavitt carries Tiger, a 3-year-old brown and black Chihuahua, in the crook of her left arm. Tiger sits there, paws crossed and eyes closed, as Leavitt examines fruit, compares prices for tortillas and chats with another customer about the flowers in her cart.
According to Leavitt, Tiger is a comfort dog prescribed by a physician. She's OK with going to the store without him, but she feels much better with him tucked under her arm.
