Investor interest in EB-5 program is expanding beyond the Chinese

  • One expert says this means the right projects can raise a lot of capital very quickly.

    Most of the investors seeking green cards under the federal EB-5 immigration program have come from China, but the pool is expanding into other countries.

    Yesterday Commercial Real Estate Women Seattle & Sound presented a panel of experts on the program, which allows foreign investors to obtain a green card if they invest $500,000 or $1 million in a qualifying project. The panelists said people from South America, Asia and the Middle East are starting to buy into U.S. projects.
