Galveston seawall project includes 5 Portland Loos

  • New bus lines will link the beach to other popular tourists destinations, parks and downtown.

    GALVESTON, Texas — Nearly three years after Galveston began charging to visitors to park on Seawall Boulevard, the city has begun to install improvements on the Gulf-front street, which they say will enhance the beach experience for both visitors and city residents.

    Officials from the city, county, Texas Department of Transportation, Park Board of Trustees and Goodman Corp., the city's transportation consultant, held a groundbreaking on Seawall Boulevard Wednesday.
