The toy company Funko will hold a grand opening at its new headquarters in downtown Everett at 9:30 a.m. on Saturday.

The company signed a 10-year lease for a five-story, 90,000-square-foot space at 2802 Wetmore Ave. last year.

Saturday's event will also celebrate the opening of Funko's first retail store, which will be in a 17,000-square-foot street-level space.

Funko's store will sell the company's pop-culture collectibles, apparel, handbags, backpacks and fashion accessories.

In an announcement, the company said the store will have “massive displays” of items inspired by Marvel, DC Comics, Star Wars and Harry Potter. Visitors can build their own custom vinyl figures, and there will be a place where young people can learn to draw, sculpt and design toys.

The headquarters will house 300 employees in a remodeled space that reflects Funko's brand.

A spokeswoman for the company did not respond to a request seeking comment.

The company is expecting high attendance for the Saturday store opening, and urges visitors not to camp out on the sidewalk beforehand. Funko will begin distributing admission tickets at 7 a.m. in Wetmore Plaza, a public space north of the building.

Regular store hours will be 11 a.m.-7 p.m. Tuesday through Friday, 10 a.m.-7 p.m. on Saturdays, and 11 a.m.-6 p.m. on Sundays.
