SEATTLE -- King County is introducing new features to its MyCommute Web site, including streaming video and three new camera locations.
The county launched the MyCommute Web site in May as a pilot project to provide advance traveler information from six online traffic cameras located on three arterial corridors.
The traffic cams are among the first in the region to use DSL/ISDN phone lines to carry signals back to the county's Web servers, avoiding the need to lay expensive fiber optic cables.
King County Executive Ron Sims will unveil the new features this morning at the Pacific Northwest Digital Government Summit 2001, which takes place at the Bell Harbor International Conference Center on Pier 66 in Seattle. The improved features will be added to the Web site this morning at www.metrokc.gov/mycommute.
