Wood industry hopes to grow on contractors

    Kasavan Architects of Salinas, Calif., won a WoodWorks award for institutional wood design for Gilroy High School in California.

    IN AN ECONOMY where the housing market continues to slouch and more than 1 million homeowners face foreclosure, the good news for builders and commercial contractors is lumber prices are hitting record lows. That's also good news for the wood products industry, which is trying to get more non-residential contractors interested in wood.
